fragrance cosmeticsMy husband is in the spare room doing some home improvement work. I just popped into the room to chat to him for five minutes. He is sweating a bit but because he is wearing fragrance cosmetics the smell coming off him is actually very sexy so I took a second to breathe in the scent. This got me thinking about how the fragrance cosmetics we use today allow us to enjoy romantic relationships that entail a lot of physical proximity. If my husband and I had lived in a bygone era when fragrance cosmetics were not the norm I would most likely have retched if I’d put my head near his armpit when he was in the middle of doing some manual labor. We really are lucky that we all live during an era in which fragrance cosmetics like perfume, cologne, body lotion, deodorant are things that we wear each day.  Our ancestors were lucky if they even got to bathe once a month. I think if I’d been alive during medieval times I would most likely have gotten married to God to avoid having to go anywhere near a man.
