Cosmetics Makeup
I have a secret. As a full time freelance writer, I enjoy going to work in shorts or a bathrobe and drinking my coffee. I do not have to get dressed up and wear heels and spend time, money and gasoline getting myself off to work. However, I do not forget the magic of beauty and cosmetics. I have this routine set up in the early morning hours and then get dressed around 9 a.m. and apply my cosmetics makeup.
You never know when someone may stop by around this house. I have opened the door over the years to an old high school friend, relatives galore, childhood friends of my children and people from church. We have always been an open door policy family. The Super Bowl parties were at our house. The teenage sleepovers for my daughter and her friends? Our house. So I try not to scare anyone off being in my mid-forties and like to put my cosmetics makeup on around 9 so I am prepared for the day.
It certainly helped when I went to the store last week and ran into an old friend I had dated some years back. Knowing my cosmetics makeup was on for the day, I felt good about myself and I could see I still looked good in his eyes. That, as every woman knows, is a major self-esteem coup. So ladies. Do yourself a favor and put a touch of the cosmetics makeup on when you run to the store. You may just run into a nice little trip down memory lane.
